Our law firm is now going on its 67th year of practice in Illinois, and we are proud to announce that James Ruppert has been made a partner. His practice concentrates in personal injury and workers’ compensation, and he regularly sees clients in Mt. Vernon, Benton, Marion, Effingham, Mt. Carmel, Olney, Vandalia, Belleville, Carlisle, and Greenville.
Mr. Ruppert is on the Tort Law Section Council, the Illinois State Bar Association, which is one of the preeminent Illinois working committees of plaintiff and defendant attorneys and judges. As a member of this group, he confers with other attorneys and judges about proposed legislation and rules to assure fairness and access in the prosecution and defense of civil wrongs involving injuries and damages. Since he is the youngest member of the firm, James Ruppert is participating in the ISBA Lawyer-to-Lawyer mentoring program with his mentor, Shane Carnine. This program acknowledges the value of having lawyers provide professional guidance and share practical knowledge with new lawyers during the critical transition from a young lawyer to a seasoned legal practitioner.
Our new partner, James Ruppert, was recently appointed by the Illinois State Bar Association’s Board of Governors to fill the 2nd Judicial Circuit Assembly Seat of its primary governing body. Ruppert will serve as one of the two representatives of the first, second, and fourth judicial circuits in Illinois. The association on which he serves is the largest bar association in Illinois with its 33,000 lawyer and judge members.
