Attorney Josh A. Humbrecht has been representing injured victims throughout Illinois for well over a decade in auto accidents, medical malpractice cases, nursing home abuse and negligence cases and workers’ compensation cases. Over the years, he has been recognized repeatedly by Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers publications as a “Emerging Attorney” and “Rising Star” ranking him in the top tier of attorneys under 40 throughout the State of Illinois.
Even before graduating from law school, Josh was working at the firm as a law clerk learning the “ins and outs” of representing and protecting the rights of injured people. Almost immediately upon graduation, Josh was trying cases to juries and arbitrators and arguing appeals throughout the region. Early in his career, he committed himself to studying and understanding the medicine associated with his clients’ injuries allowing him to effectively represent their interest and refute opinions from doctors retained by the insurance companies. His combined knowledge of the law and medicine has made him extremely successful in the cases he handles and has led to a great track record as a trial attorney. Josh has always made it a point to approach his clients and communication in a straight-forward and down-to-earth manner, treating each client with respect and empathy. Clients repeatedly praise him for his communication. Josh personally credits his success over the years to his fiercely competitive approach to litigation and a determined work ethic.
Josh grew up in New Lenox, Illinois graduating from Lincoln-Way High School. He attended Illinois State University where he double majored in history and political science. He then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law where he graduated Magna cum Laude in 2009. He started as a law clerk with Hassakis & Hassakis, P.C. in 2008, became an associate upon graduation in 2009 and then became a partner in the firm in 2014 at the age of 31. He knew since the age of 13, he wanted to practice law and followed that dream to a realization. He lives in Mt. Vernon, Illinois with his wife, Monika, their three children, Caden, Ella and Ava and their oversized golden retriever, Bear. In his downtime, he serves on various committees for the Illinois State Bar Association, coaches youth sports and enjoys the outdoors with his family.
